Hampton Inn Columbia-Downtown Historic District

We had a wonderful experience at the Hampton Inn in Columbia, South Carolina. Shauncie checked us in and was extremely welcoming and accommodating. Upon check-in, she greeted us, recognized our Diamond member status, and offered us our selection of snacks and drinks and more. She also made sure we had enough waters since we have an 8-month-old and use a lot for bottles. We were traveling with a play pen as well, and she ensured the extra bedding made it up to our room. After a long travel day, it was so refreshing to be greeted by someone who truly goes above and beyond. All of the staff members were awesome throughout our stay. Brad was also very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We don’t visit South Carolina often, but if we do return, we will definitely be staying at this location again. Highly recommend. I love being able to walk to really anywhere in the city. The rooms were spacious and clean. And Shaunie was very kind as she engaged and helped me throughout my two day visit!

This hotel is very nice, clean and spacious room. We stayed in king room but it faced Gervais St. You could hear every car or motorcycle that road by. My suggestion would be book a room on opposite side of street. Those room numbers are even numbers, the ones facing street is odd numbers. The breakfast they serve is also very good and plenty of options. Their coffee is not Starbucks but good enough. Plenty of places near by and within walking to eat and shop. You will have to pay for parking if you park a car in their parking lot. I really do not understand why hotels make you do this. Just another way to nickel and dime you. One note: you can bring your dog.

Front desk staff, Shaunie, was absolutely amazing. My friends and I were looking for a place to eat. She took time to tell us all about the restaurants in the area. She was patient, kind, and sweet. I really appreciated her assistance and willingness to take time for us. She asked several times if our rooms were okay. She truly cared that we had 5 star service. I will be back and only stay at this location when I visit Columbia.

I just want to say how pleasant Shaunie was during my stay at the Hampton Inn. She was so kind, polite, and helpful, and really made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. It’s so refreshing to see someone who truly enjoys helping others. Please recognize her for a job well done!

Stayed in town for the night to celebrate an anniversary & this location was PERFECT! (Great parking) The service and staff were excellent, Rick really pulled out all the stops to make it special for us. Room was spacious, clean & smelled great with a super comfy bed. We had a great dinner within walking distance and took a $5 uber to a concert where we could enjoy some extra drinks. Breakfast bar was spotless, fabulous & stocked to the nines with everything you could imagine. We will definitely make this our go to spot for a night on the town ;)
